Friendly Announced; Season Tickets On Sale
Port will be playing fellow T1 (that’s going to take some getting used to) side Nakhon Ratchasima in a warm-up game on January 22nd. It’s the first friendly to be announced this year, but it seems very likely that Port will be playing other friendlies before then, although with this being Thai football they will probably be announced via emoji 5 minutes after kick-off.

The receipt, in all it’s glory
In other news, season tickets are on sale at PAT Stadium from today until January 20th The club shop will be open from 10:00 until 17:00, and you will need to provide your passport and your address. I dropped in earlier today to renew my Titanium Card, and it all went very smoothly. I filled in the online form before I went, which only took a minute because after entering my name all of the details from last season’s application popped straight up. The online form is in Thai, but if you don’t do it before you go that’s absolutely fine. As long as you have your passport and your address the staff will fill it out for you, which only takes a few minutes. Unfortunately, when all is said, done and paid for, you only get a receipt rather than the actual ticket. Hang on to the receipt, and The Sandpit will update you when the club announces that the season tickets are ready to collect. Last season it was after the season started, so don’t be too shocked if the same thing happens again. This is Thailand, after all!
I went to the club shop earlier today to buy my first ever season ticket in Thailand. I went in person because I hadn´t been to the club shop for a looooooong time. Well, maybe I shouldn´t have gone since it was a depressing sight and experience.
Well, of course didn´t I expect any champagne or Leo sipping opportunity purely for the fact that yet another farang shows up buying a season ticket. But, c´mon, does the shop really have to be so shabby and look like it is boarded up? Do the steps to the shop really need to be covered in pigeons´ ***? And inside? Wow, I was most impressed by an almost completely empty room which made my late mother´s garden shed look like a world-class museum! The 2 girls taking my reservation for the season ticket were friendly and we had quite a bit to laugh about (mostly about my almost non-existent Thai) but then again, I would have hoped they would know something about upcoming friendlies or the first day of the new season. Well, they didn´t!
Stepping into the rather depressing club shop, it remined me of the comments made on portsfcsandpit.com about the poor Marketing of the club. Well, if you treat your “home” and club shop like it was an irrelevant dump, I must agree that Port will never grasp the opportunity of marketing itself as the currently only central Bangkok club in the PL. What a wasted opportunity given its prime location within the capital.
Anyway, here´s to a successful 2017 season!

Sorry for the typos in my email. Can I please blame it on the fact of not being a native English speaker!?
Cheers!
Thanks for the update.
Any idea when fixture list comes out?
Cheers
Ralph
I saw an announcement by the League on Twitter the other day which said to expect the fixture list “in the middle of January”.
Yes, ‘middle of January’ is also what I’ve heard. It should really be called the “Fixture List First Draft” though, as it’s likely to change before long.
