Charyl Chappuis is a Thai-Swiss midfielder who has joined Port from Muangthong for the 2020 season. Born and raised in Switzerland, Chappuis represented the country of his birth throughout his youth career, even playing in all 7 games when his team were crowned under 17 World Champions in 2009. Chappuis moved to Thailand with Buriram in 2013, and then to Suphanburi, where he unfortunately missed almost a year and a half of action with a knee injury. Since then he has struggled to rediscover his best form, but nevertheless he secured a move to Muangthong in 2017, before joining Port in early 2020.

Chappuis is primarily used as a deep-lying playmaker, using his excellent long passing to direct play from the middle of the park. He is not expected to be in Port’s starting XI, but will likely see significant action from the bench.
