Nurul Sriyankem was Port’s marquee Thai signing of 2018, arriving for a reported 20 million baht from Chonburi. In his debut season, Nurul scored 6 goals and provided 9 assists for his teammates. The Southerner from Phatthalung stands at just 5 foot 4, but makes up for his lack of height with blistering acceleration and rapid changes of direction. Nurul’s favourite position is on the right wing, but with Pakorn the established first choice in that position, Nurul has had to make do with a place on the left. It’s not worked out too badly for him though, as he has clocked up regular minutes for the Thai national team, and will continue to be a key member of Port’s first XI in 2019.
