Jadet Woos Therdsak

Jadet is keen for Port to bring in legendary player-turned-coach Therdsak Chaiman as his assistant, according to rumours that started last week.

Therdsak enjoyed a sparkling playing career, including stints in Vietnam, Singapore and Indonesia, as well as starring in the Thai League, The Asian Champions League, and playing 75 times for the national team.

The latter part of the great playmaker’s career saw him enjoy a lengthy stint with Chonburi, for whom he has played, coached and managed.

In 2015 he was The Sharks’ assistant coach under Jadet, before taking over as boss after the Spherical Supremo moved to Port in 2016. Therdsak struggled as the main man, eventually returning to his previous role as assistant, before deciding to build up some experience as manager of T3 club Phuket City, who are also Chonburi’s feeder team.

With all T3-4 players and staff more or less up for grabs in this extended break from action, Jadet has apparently decided now is the time to fill the hole left after the departure of Choke and his team, so now it’s over to Port management to decide whether they will grant the big man’s wishes. If they do hire Therdsak it will all but confirm that they intend to put their faith in Jadet for the coming season, although we’re certainly not beyond hiring and firing staff before a ball is kicked!
